Learning Figma by Designing a Real Wireframe
For this project, I learned how to use Figma by creating a wireframe inspired by Mercado Libre.
Mercado Libre is one of the largest e-commerce platforms in Latin America, similar to Amazon or eBay. Its structure makes it a great reference for learning how real marketplaces organize products, navigation, and user flows.
Wireframe Process & Best Practices
Instead of focusing on visual design, I concentrated on wireframing best practices, such as:
Clear layout hierarchy
Consistent spacing and alignment
Simple components (headers, cards, buttons)
User-focused structure over visual details
The goal was to understand how information is organized, not how it looks.
What I Learned Using Figma
Through this exercise, I learned how to:
Use frames, grids, and auto layout
Build reusable components
Keep designs clean and functional
Think in terms of UX instead of decoration
This helped me understand Figma as a practical tool for planning, not just for visual design.
Next Step: From Wireframe to Business Idea
While working on the wireframe, I came up with a new idea:
creating a landing page for an infoproduct focused on “How to Sell on Mercado Libre”, designed to:
Present the course clearly
Capture leads
Validate a real business concept
